I love the Jusrol (Pillsbury) products
« on: February 12, 2013, 05:32:53 PM »
The pizza crust, rolls, crusty bread and crescent rolls all taste like their Pillsbury cousins.  My British husband just loves opening the can.  He has never seen anything like them before.   I made some monkey bread last month.  It was a big hit.

Are they really related?  Frankly, I never cared for Pilsbury, but Jusroll pie crusts are brilliant!

General Mills owns both, so they're basically cousin brands. Although weirdly I think that general mills AND Smuckers both own parts of the Pillsbury brand.

The Jus-rol stuff is all produced in the UK though :)

Pilsbury has been around for decades in the UK.  I recall adverts with the Pilsbury Doughman from the 70's and 80's.  The whole bread in a tube thing just never seemed to really 'take off' though and you couldn't find items for years.  Glad it's making a bit of a comeback.

Are the crescent roll tubes a new product?  I've never seen them anywhere, or anything like them.  Which sucks, because I'd love to have them.

The only ones I've seen are the puff pastry, shortcrust pastry, filo and pizza crust.

Which of their products did you use to make monkey bread? In America I'd use buttermilk biscuits.

I used the Crusty White Rolls.  Split each roll in half before baking (as they are quite big)
