BBC News: UK visa appointments 'sold for cash'
« on: February 17, 2013, 08:35:00 AM »
Wow, 'interesting' article on the BBC News website today:

UK visa appointments 'sold for cash'

It seems that some people are buying up as many PEO in-person appointments as they can and then selling them to the general public for up to £800 more than the actual in-person visa fee!

'Interesting' is right!  Thanks, ksand24.

There is a radio story at 11am today (Sunday) on BBC Radio 5 live -- "5 live Investigates" -- and it appears the entire 55 minutes is devoted to the topic.  I'll be tuning in!
2011 -- Fiancée visa granted
2012 -- Moved to UK, married, applied for FLR(M)
2013 -- FLR(M) granted

Interesting is one word.  Infuriating is, for me, a better one.  But also completely unsurprising.

I noticed one of these guys posted on one of the threads here yesterday, offering to book appointments for people.  I hope he gets busted.

But I'm also forwarding this to my MP.  This entire situation is completely out of control.

Unlikely as the two posters that have done this were posting from India. :(

“It was when I realised I had a new nationality: I was in exile. I am an adulterous resident: when I am in one city, I am dreaming of the other. I am an exile; citizen of the country of longing.” ― Suketu Mehta.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.
