Me as well. My ex-stepbrother ran in the marathon today but looking at the online results, he finished a while before the bombings, so I'm hoping he's OK.

It's just horrible.  We were out to dinner tonight because we had a showing on our house and that's all that was on the TVs at the restaurant...my poor kids just kept asking questions.  :(
Moving to Manchester area this summer with my husband and three children!

Horrific news :( I am from Mass.. Heard from my cousin who owns a hotel in Boylston St. He posted the following on FB:

All charlesmark people safe
Very close call
35 feet from patio
Very scared

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.. Scary scary times. :(

My cousin and her husband were somewhere along the route watching.  Well away from the finish line so they all got home OK.

Shooting overnight at MIT -- campus cop killed.  Two suspects hijack car with ensuing police chase.
Big manhunt on now in Watertown. One suspect shot dead.
Entire T system shut down. Harvard University and other area universities shut. Some talk of more planted explosives.

From the images, they are pouring troopers into the area....and they look serious.

I can't believe how young the surviving suspect looks.

I've been streaming WCVB watching it since I got back from town. So scary!!! I don't think they'll take the other suspect alive...I just hope he doesn't take anyone else with him.

It's crazy - one of my friends from primary school is a post-doc researcher at MIT, and she was a spectator at the marathon at the weekend, so she keeps having to write FB posts assuring people that she's okay!

Just had lunch and saw the news - so disturbing.

These kinda things just make me feel sad. Why???

This whole thing is just a nightmare. I hope it comes to an end quickly and with as little harm as possible. My uncle and his girlfriend live in Watertown, so we're hoping they've managed to not get caught up in any of it.
