Maybe so,  but I do like my steak 'well done'.  I don't like all that blood and stuff running out of it.  I just don't understand how people can eat that in rare, medium rare.  I think it is disgusting.

I don't eat red meat, but I do know that that's not blood you're seeing in a rare steak - it's water and protein.

I think it would be a good idea of making your restaurant into one of a kind that serves a different theme each night.  Be it Mexican, BBQ, etc...  Even have some of your waiters and waiteresses dress up for that theme each night. Make it a fun place to work and be at for customers.  What would be a plus if they can sing in that theme's language.  lol.

This would be exactly the type of restaurant I would seek to avoid!  :-X

Me too.  I can't really see that sort of thing catching on in the UK!

There sort of is a place like that in Leeds called Red Hot.  But it's loads of different "cuisines" all at once.  It is not good and is like the Disney World of restaurants with the Mexican section, Indian section, Chinese section, etc.  Very mediocre food for obvious reasons.

Aye, we have one nearby called 'International Starters' which sounds really cool on paper - lots of little tapas type bites from around the world, but its rubbish! All fried and terrible and not typical of what you might actually get.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the others on the 'theme' nights  :-\\\\ Sounds uncomfortable and embarrassing for the diners to have singing and happy-slappy-waiters/waitresses acting up a theme  etc,  which would work well in the US, but not too well in the UK.

Ditto. Although a lot of people would like to have the choice of American food in a restaurant, I don't think they'd like to import the happy-slappy stuff!  ;D

There was a seafood place in south florida, and every now and again a disco song would come over the speakers and all the staff would start doing this line dance...sort of an Electric Slide.

Here it is:

Joe's Crab Shack Dance Sacramento

Wretched food.

Well yes....the thing is we were living on Hollywood Beach at the time and there were several pretty decent beach bars within strolling distance (and some real dives). But we end up driving through South Florida traffic for an hour to go to this faux parrot head place in the middle of a mall parking lot just to have the staff dance while the fried-from-frozen, pre-battered popcorn shrimp curdled under the heat lamp. My tea glass was empty and I had to hold a coaster under the table leg with my foot to keep it from shifting back and forth.

Every time I have a weird lasagna in a damp gastro pub I always use that experience to keep me from thinking America always does food better.

Sonofasailor> You had a pretty unusual experience with that huh? And you are a Jimmy Buffett fan like I am!  We have a restaurant here called Margaritaville. Can't even spell the darn word.  lol.  Are you from Florida as well??

If I find myself in a damp gastropub, I generally opt for the suspect pie over the weird lasagne.  At least it's authentic bad food.

The one in Bristol is called 'FlavorZ'. We went there for a work do once and it was horrible. I'm always suspect of a company that uses a 'Z' for an 'S'!
