Looking for a UX position in London
« on: May 24, 2013, 02:21:57 PM »
Hi,

Just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows of anything going.

I'm looking for a UX (user experience) or interaction design position in London.  I have ILR, so no sponsorship needed.  Digital agency experience and an MA in New Media.

Based in Hackney, but not picky as to location within London.

Any leads greatly appreciated - get in touch if you'd like more info (CV, portfolio, etc).

Thanks!

A

Have you looked at the British Computer Society, presuming your background has an IT base?

If your MA was completed in the UK, what about looking at alumni support / student services for leads?

If your role does not have an IT base, www.prospects.ac.uk might have information regarding the type of job you're after, related professional bodies and where to look.  :)

Jeeze Louise.  For someone in tech, I really need to figure out how to get notified when a reply is posted!  Sorry about that.

My MA is from Finland, so alumni resources don't really exist (they don't have an alumni culture there).  The BCS has a jobsboard that might be helpful.  Will check that out - been looking on a lot of those.  Thanks!

Is this organisation relevant for networking / professional recognition?

You might also want to try www.jobserve.com to look for posts.

UXPA is definitely on target!  I'm really involved with them - highly recommended for anyone in the UX field!  Thanks for the suggestion :)  Will check out Jobserve, too!

Hey there,

I am looking to move into the UX field myself, so I may PM you separately for some more information, but I do know that Thomson Reuters is currently looking for a Senior Interaction Designer based out of the Canary Wharf offices.  I think its working on the financial platform Eikon as all Financial work comes out of CW.  Have a look at the main webpage to see if it is still up.
