What do you like to do when it's raining?
« on: May 24, 2013, 03:55:39 PM »
I thought I'd try and think up some nice things to do when the weather is so !"£$%^&*(. I don't want the weather to grind me down. So here goes:

1. go to the cinema
2. bake
3. read
4. play board games

What about you?  :)

Before I started working again, I used to:

1. Go through drawers, weeding and throwing things out, and collecting things for the charity shops.  Amazing that even though we both weeded out *majorly* before we move in together, we still had far too much stuff and nowhere to put it when we combined households. I bet I could still fill up several boxes to shift out of here.

2. Read - a LOT!

3. Make up new games to play with my dog, Lola.

4. Call friends and family.

5. Shop online for good deals on previously watched DVDs so we had something good to watch when there was nothing on TV in the evening, or for rainy Sundays.

6. Learn metric (a somewhat failure. ;) )

7. Do a LOT of research into career options/setting up business in the UK.

8. Do those little projects around the house that one never gets around to when you're working and/or it's nice outside.

9. Experiment with new makeup looks and/or nails.

10. Do exercise videos (okay, I didn't do this as much as I intended to!)

11. As we are slowly redoing each room, I used to plan our new room look online - find the furniture, linens and accessories I wanted when we had the money, and bookmark them in separate folders.

12. Watch makeup tutorials on Youtube.

I guess that's it. Pretty geeky and boring? :D

Practice music stuff

Organize stuff

Bake / Cook

and like Fallgal I tried out some makeup today.

But I am really antsy and bored and didn't do half of the above stuff because I'm just feeling so uninspired.  :-\\\\

Housework. I don't like doing it, and if the weather's good I'd much rather be doing something outdoors, so rainy days are housework days. If it didn't rain, I'm not sure I'd ever do it!  :P

Ugh, same here, usually do housework and catch up on paperwork, bills, phone calls, indoor boring stuff.......not fun.

But what I would like to do is lay on the couch under a blanket, like a snug bug and watch cheesy tv all day long, just because its raining!

All above ^^^^ good ideas!  :)

Drink wine & go to sleep!  :D

My best move is to put on the waterproofs & just go out there & do my running around or whatever anyway = what I did earlier.  It's better for me to get out of the house if possible than to stay in.  :)

One thing I really miss about the rain in the UK, is that you can still do stuff because it is mostly a misty rain.  I used to love to run in the rain more than anything (miss that a lot!).  Can't do that here in Alberta, because when it rains here, it lashes it down!

I love running in the rain, too. Count me in!

On rainy days that are too horrible to go outside, I tend to do a lot of reading, blogging, catching up on photo editing for a bit before I chuck it all in and catch up on my netflix queue or watching the Kiera Pride & Prejudice. Yes. Specifically that movie.

And if I have the ingredients, I'll make some long, complicated recipe. Like a chicken and leak pie or leg of lamb or something. I'm saving beef wellington for the next big rain, which will probably be when I'm back in the UK in July.

We knew a woman who, when it was rainy/grey outside, would just pull all the curtains and get on with whatever she was doing. Blotting out the sight of all the rain helped, I guess!

Sleep, read, knit, listen to music.
