Before I started working again, I used to:
1. Go through drawers, weeding and throwing things out, and collecting things for the charity shops. Amazing that even though we both weeded out *majorly* before we move in together, we still had far too much stuff and nowhere to put it when we combined households. I bet I could still fill up several boxes to shift out of here.
2. Read - a LOT!
3. Make up new games to play with my dog, Lola.
4. Call friends and family.
5. Shop online for good deals on previously watched DVDs so we had something good to watch when there was nothing on TV in the evening, or for rainy Sundays.
6. Learn metric (a somewhat failure.

)
7. Do a LOT of research into career options/setting up business in the UK.
8. Do those little projects around the house that one never gets around to when you're working and/or it's nice outside.
9. Experiment with new makeup looks and/or nails.
10. Do exercise videos (okay, I didn't do this as much as I intended to!)
11. As we are slowly redoing each room, I used to plan our new room look online - find the furniture, linens and accessories I wanted when we had the money, and bookmark them in separate folders.
12. Watch makeup tutorials on Youtube.
I guess that's it. Pretty geeky and boring?
