Anyone know a way to expedite Provisional DVLA?

They say they will have my passport for a month, but I travel every week.  Any way to move this faster?  Drive to Swansea?

Even if you drive to one of the designated DVLAs where you can apply in person (you can't apply in person at all of them and even though Swansea is where they're processed you might not be able to apply there), you'll still need to send off your passport.  I'm not sure what other IDs they would accept....

I sent mine off from the Wimbledon DVLA and had my passport back in about a week around Christmas 2012.  I included a pre-paid envelope to track it as it made it's way back to me.
