Hello.  I am new to this site. :)

I am from Arizona, USA, where I had lived all my life until recently. :)  I met this amazing guy in an IMVU chat by chance about four and a half years ago.  He was a bit younger than me, from Cornwall, England, and the most incredible person I have ever met in my life. We fell for each other instantly and were inseperable form the day we met.

We were in a long distance relationship for about three years before we met in person when he came out to visit me.  I then proceded to get a Student Visa and came to the UK nine months later and moved in with my guy in Cheltenham, England where we are both students.  We then got engaged officially three months later on Christmas Eve.  We got married on our four year anniversary only a month and a half later in Cornwall.

So now you know why I am an American expat living in England currently... So maybe a bit more about me personally...

I am a twenty-something and I have a Masters in Psychology.  I have worked in non-profit organizations with the homeless and right before I came to the UK I was a case manager for the severly mentally ill, which I really enjoyed- challenging and rewarding, always something new!  I am currently a full-time student attending school for Fine Arts because I would like to open a non-profit for the SMI population that involves therepuetic art projects to help improve their lives, get them involved in a sense of community, build confidence, and promote healing through expression.

I feel I have a lot to contribute to this forum and community.  I have experience and knowledge to share about long distance relationships, student visas, living in the UK, etc.  I would hope that maybe by joining here and participating that I will be able to help someone else on their journey.  I also have been skimming around and reading up on some threads and already a lot of others have helped me.

See you around the forum. :)

Just FYI the standard  black font is much easier to read.

Welcome Born 2 Rule...maybe further exchanges between us won't be as confrontational as the first!  ;D

Are you really trying to get me annoyed now? I can't think of anything worse than that beer! But I shall be going to the pub shortly for some lovely real ale!

Hi TykeMan, Thanks for the welcome! I don't think we will argue much more! Lol.  It could well be the weather Sonofasailor.  I am kind of used to it, being from Arizona (the desert and all- this is like the winter to me!! Haha)- but I definitely find it harder here because the lack of air conditioning everywhere I go (including my flat)-- in AZ you can escape from the heat if you want, here I don't feel like I can!! Plus the humidity is the worst!  I have been running through ice bags like crazy! :)  Thanks Anonymiss for the tip-- I just hate standard black, being an artist at heart!! :)  But I will use it so everyone can read me better! :)  Sorry I haven't been posting on here that much I am in the process of moving from Cheltenham to Cornwall in the next two weeks so I have been kind of busy packing, making arrangements, and such-- so I will try to get on and add to a few threads other than the one I already caused a stir in. ;)
