Well... It's over
« on: August 09, 2013, 10:23:12 PM »
After a year of studying in the UK (the best experience of my life) and a year of living with the most amazing boyfriend I've ever had... I couldn't find a way to get housing to return for my 2nd year and didn't go back... As such, my boyfriend could not wait for me transfer schools and endure the distance anymore and he's broken up with me.

My heart is broken... I'm home in the states with my family... And he's over there 4,000 miles away where I can't just go to his house and show him it's all possible... He won't even give it a try.

So it's with a heavy heart and an extreme feeling of loss that I say thanks to everyone who helped me with the advice I needed to get my visa initially... And all of the advice from that point on... I wish I knew where to go from here, but I'm sure I'll find a way somehow. Going to be hard to top the happiness I felt over there with him and school and everything.

So sorry, but given the time frame, despite your happiness over the past year, consider yourself lucky. Looks to me like he wasn't for the long haul anyway.

Consider it HIS loss, not yours. If he cared, he wouldn't give up so quickly IMHO,

I'm really sorry to hear that things didn't work out as you'd hoped.  I am sure that your heart is broken. It will heal, but it will take time. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to take as much time as you need to grieve the loss of your relationship. ((hugs))

*many hugs*  I'm so sorry. It is never easy to end a relationship.  You *will* feel such happiness again. Just give it time.

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.
