11 month properties?

I have heard my fiance speak of 11 month properties. I gather they are some sort of vacation home? Where can I find more information about these? What I'm trying to get at is if there is a UK equivalent to a "park model" RV (caravan) style of living. A small, part of the year place that doesn't move. A condominium on wheels.

The search term you want to use is 'static caravan residental sites' (if you're looking for what an American may think of as a trailer park)

My friend lives in a static caravan site and it's great for her. She gets to live in a beautiful location along the sea and its hers (in this age of ever increasing property prices, this was very affordable and she's happy as can be!)

11 month homes can also be standard construction. The 11 month rule is a way for councils to get around planning restrictions, and means that these can only ever be holiday homes and the owner/tenants cannot register at the local GP or send children to school.

Never heard of 11-month homes before.

Try searching 'park homes'... I think that's the term I've heard most often used for the sort of 'mobile homes' like the 'double-wide' my granny lived in in California.
