New to the Board and Scotland
« on: March 11, 2014, 12:05:14 PM »
Hello Everyone!
A friend found this site and recommended I check it out.  I'm so glad!  I am 59, retired and married my Scot in the great state of Maine on August 3, 2014 and after obtaining my visa (what a job that was!), arrived in Scotland on September 25, 2013.  We live in Newburgh, Fife.

I love it here and can't believe I'm actually lucky enough to be living in the land of my ancestors.  There have been (and will continue to be) frustrations and LOTS of adjustments, so I'm very glad to have found a group to learn from and share with.  The biggest negative is that I left my 25 year old daughter and 5 year old grandson and my siblings behind.  :(   I'm very grateful for computers and iPads!

Can't wait to hear from some folks and read what everyone is up to!

Laurel

I am planning on moving from New Hampshire to Cupar, Fife to be marry my wee bestie. I'm very confused as to the process and hope to learn a lot on these forums. Hoping to make the move within the next year or so (sooner rather than later).

Forgot to add - I just got back from 2 weeks in Scotland and fell in love with the place and I love Cupar.

Welcome!  I'm 62 and married my Scot in 2000.  I'm in Argyll near Dunoon.
Love life in Scotland.  Love retirement.  Love travel.  Life is good.
