It seems there have been a few complaints about the episode where the pub was done over.

I wouldn't have complained about it but I did find the violence a bit shocking for a primetime show. And I also wondered why they had to throw that in about the Hillsborough disaster. It's a bit like if they decided to mention 9/11 in the middle of the Bold and the Beautiful or something.

that's the bit i missed... that bit where Minty & Jase were talking.  I heard them say Hillsborough & Heysel, but between them whispering and the phone conversation that was going on 2 feet away from me, i couldnt work out what was going on, so just (wrongly?) deduced that they were football hooligans.

I missed two episodes, but I read that the BBC received well over 600 complaints about the Vic violence, and Ofcom received about 300. They're re-editing the version for the Sunday omnibus, although they're supposedly going to keep the Hillsborough reference in. I'm not interested in seeing a watered down version, so I don't think I'm going to bother with the omnibus. Incidentally, just how violent can EastEnders, of all shows, get?  ???

Oh wow even though I read spoilers and I knew what was going to happen today and I know some of what happens next, I was still crying into my leftovers as I watched tonight.  Bit too much for Xmas day really.

I actually think it's all been a bit much. Don't get me wrong, I do love a bit of melodrama and I certainly don't expect good things to happen on the square, but... maybe it's cause I've been in a funny mood this week but it was all just a bit too miserable for me.  :-\\\\

I've reached the point where I start laughing at all the tear-jerky moments.

It's just silly.

Everyone here thought the Xmas episode was a bit boring. We wanted some real drama and it was a bit of a let down.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

I've never watched Eastenders or really any other soap for that matter....until Christmas. Now I'm hooked on Eastenders. Ugh. Don't know if that's good or bad
