Hi All,
Apologies ahead of time if this has already been answered somewhere in this forum.
I am a U.S. citizen who has been living in the U.K. (I'm married to a British citizen) since 2009. During this time period, I have been a full-time student in the U.K. However, I have worked throughout my studies and in the U.S. tax year (2013) I made approximately £14,500. I have never had more than $10,000 in any of my accounts at any one time (although my husband has some ISAs that would surpass this amount that are only in his name).
I'm very confused as to whether I need to report this income to the IRS. It is my understanding that if I do have to file, I would need to submit a Department of Treasury Form TD F 90-22.1 and that I would have until June 30th to do so. Am I on the right track here?
Any information would be very helpful!
Thanks!
