Plus sized maternity clothes?
« on: July 12, 2014, 09:46:33 AM »
Does anyone know where to find a good selection of plus sized (24-26 UK) maternity clothes that I can try on? I'm in Norwich, but do sometimes travel to Lowestoft. The websites I've looked at have a pitiful selection of things in my size, and I'm afraid that I'm just going to have to buy huge clothes and look like a tent with a bump or make my own - and I'm not confident that I have the right skills to make my own yet! I'm 7 weeks along, but my bump has already popped a bit, so I'll be needing maternity clothes pretty soon!

Thanks in advance!  :)

You may be looking for the holy grail. UK stores just don't seem to really carry maternity clothes in store anymore - it is mostly online. And the few places that do have a really limited amount of sizes. I've seen things in mothercare, H&M and Jojo Maman Bebe - but I don't think they carry anything in your size.

You may be able to extend the life of your clothes if you use a belly band and wear clothes that are bump friendly - tunics, wrap dresses, etc.

I found quite a few things in Yours today, most of which show off the bump quite well. None of them are maternity clothes, but they are stretchy tops and wrap dresses, a few stretch crop trousers, and a linen dress that's fitted in the bust, but really loose below that. Hopefully won't need any clothes for quite a while. The ones I brought over from the States two years ago are all quite threadbare, especially the trousers (only one pair still kinda fits and doesn't have holes in the thighs!).

I had a tough time finding maternity clothes full stop.  Ebay became my friend.  At least the price was right!
