My US "address" is moving
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:29:14 AM »
Hi all. Long time no see. :)

I lived in CA for the vast majority of my adult life, and since arriving in the UK in 2006, have used my best friend's CA address as my US location for voting purposes. She, however, is moving to Virginia in a few months. Although I still have other friends in CA, I am not thrilled with the idea of asking them to use their address and all of my family are in other states.

What does one do in this situation?

Is your only concern voting?  This link shows how to without a US address:

whatever you do, do NOT establish ANY ties to VA - they want to keep you forever! So if you friend says "just use my new address".....don't do it.

But as KFdancer says, if voting is your only concern, you don't need a US address.
