I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

This is wrong on many levels. Why target Eastern Europeans? Why of all "crimes" homelessness?

Because as EU citizens, we know we are not allowed to visit another EU country for more than 3 months.  We can't just simply move to another EU country.

If we want to stay longer than 3 months, then we have to be exercising treaty rights and be a qualified person and then meet the rules for the type of qualified person we are i.e. be billed for our healthcare while in that EU country.  Living on the streets, homeless, is not counted as being a qualified person under EU rules.

Just like all immigrants, we also have to abide by the laws of that country.

I doubt they targeted just eastern europeans, but perhaps the ones they found sleeping on the streets were eastern europeans?

Germany is putting through some tough new laws on immigrants, even tougher than the UK's new Immigration Act and new strict welfare reforms.

The article seems to be saying Eastern Europeans were targeted. I see no mention of the number of natives detained.

Six areas of London it seems, where there have been offensive consequences caused by harassment. If it wasn't "natives" causing those problems, that would be the reason they weren't detained.

The operation was aimed at combating the 'offensive consequences' caused by beggars harassing shopkeepers, local residents and tourists in six boroughs in the capital.

Well there you are. That old lady does look to be a bit of a troublemaker, probably has a shiv in that Tesco bag.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has reportedly warned David Cameron she would rather see the UK leave the EU than compromise over the principle of free movement.
