Well, I hope my children will eat them! They are less picky than I am, but they won't eat cheddar (much less strong English cheddar!) for the life of them!

I know they will eventually learn, but I'm trying to keep as much the same for them at first as possible!

Ah, they might like Red Leicester? It's a rather mild cheese. I'm really missing Colby and Muenster myself.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I think pepper jack is my most missed cheese. That and Mexican restaurant style queso.

If you haven't already tried it, you should try Port Salut cheese.  In my mind, it's just like Muenster (although I haven't tasted Muenster in over 20 years... it's the way i remember it, though.)

Use them just as you would Kraft slices and don't mention that they're not the same?  See if they notice anything different.  Perhaps they'll just go with it if they aren't told to expect something different.

HAHAHAHAHA! I know you were trying to be helpful...but my kids notice if I use a different BRAND of American cheese in the US. They are that (annoyingly) picky. Also, they won't eat cheese that isn't ORANGE (*sigh*). I have the most picky kids and this is going to be a massive change for them. I know they will figure it out, but it's going to be interesting!

I am going to miss co-jack, meunster, and pepper jack myself!

Thank you for the suggestion! I will have to look into that one next time we're at the store. It's been more than a year since I've had any, I'm going to eat too much of it when I'm in the states, I think.

Haha!  Oh dear, sounds like my brother.  I wish you the best of luck.

Oh, meunster,  I could go for a ham, turkey, and meunster sandwich right now.....

It exactly as everyone said. There's not a huge Mexican population in the UK like there is in the US and as such, Tex-Mex will never gain the popularity that it enjoys in the US. I'm afraid you're going to have rely on Old El Paso for your cravings!

When I arrived in Texas, being a Brit who had never before eaten an Enchilada, I soon began my Tex-Mex education. But after 5 years here, I still am in love with Indian food. Sorry!

I have to say this:  if you want Mexican food so much why move to the UK?  You can't expect to have every cuisine available to the highest standards.

Well, i mean, you can miss things and still want to move somewhere.
