I have just been approached by a company about a job, and it is basically confirmed that they're going to make me an offer next week. I'm really excited, because in my industry and for this type of job, they tend to get hundreds of applicants, but have instead simply come straight to me since I had interviewed with them about a year ago. (It does mean leaving a job I only started in May, but that's another matter entirely...)
The sticky situation is that I'm in the middle of waiting for my ILR visa. I applied in mid-May, had my biometrics mid-June, and from the timelines I've seen I *should* be hearing from them in the next few weeks. Assuming that does happen, my guess is everything will be okay.
Even if I haven't heard from them by October (when I could be switching jobs), am I correct in thinking that I can still legally switch jobs? I have the letters from the Home Office to show this employer that my visa is being processed, and have no reason to think there will be any problems with the visa. Is there anything I'd need to consider on the application side, such as letting them know about my change of employment?
I've only just started to get my head around the fact that I'll be leaving a really great job I've only been at for a few months - albeit for something better that I've been wanting for years. So now I'm trying to prepare for anything that may prove problematic with the visa issue. Any insight would be much appreciated!
