Another doc checklist (feedback requested) (FLRM)
« on: October 07, 2014, 01:58:51 PM »
To recap, I'm on a tier 4, switching to FLR(M). We're getting married on Friday in Oxford, have our in-person visa appointment in Sheffield on Monday. We met when both students at Sheffield, hopefully the northern visa officers find this awesome.

Application info:
-FLR(M) printed application
-Application online payment receipt
-Appointment sheet

Applicant info:
-My passport (only ever had 1)
-2 photos

Sponsor info:
-His passport
-Letter of support for the visa

Financial info:
We're category A.
-6 months of his pay stubs (originals)
-Letter from employer
-PAYE (April 2014)
-6 months bank statements. [we have 5 months of originals but can't find one month, have a stamped printout copy from the bank. Will that be okay?]

Relationship info:
-Tickets from international visits (2012-2013)
-3 photos together (could be more if needed, but we're figuring one from shortly after we met 3 years ago, one from travelling together about 1.5 years ago, one from the registry office wedding)
-Pre-marital education certificate (we completed a course together)
-Marriage certificate (have already confirmed with the registry office we'd like an extra one on friday)

Accommodation info:
-Tenancy agreement from 2013-2014, original
-Tenancy renewal for 2014-2015, printed as it is only completed online; also a letter confirming the renewal from the estate agent

QUESTION:
I'm terribly confused about all the proof of address requirements. The new FLR(M) form asks for them, does it apply to us? I have sufficient mail to me, but not for my partner, so I'm really quite worried about that one. He didn't change his bank address until the last couple of months to our address instead of his parents (who live quite close by and whom he was living with whilst I was in the USA). His NHS letters go there because he requires medication deliveries and has had the same delivery schedule since he was quite young, so it's easier to have them deliver to his parents, and have his parents drop things off with us later, as they're home more than us.

Otherwise, are things looking okay? Thanks again for all the help you all have provided!

Sept '11: premium service same-day tier 4 visa granted in NYC
July '13: tier 4 visa - applied from boston

Sept 2019: IRL, priority at Croydon, granted same day
October 2019: submitted naturalisation application
January 2020: citizenship approved!
March 2020: last citizenship ceremony before covid :-O

You also need a passport photo of him as well, with his name on the back.

I'm assuming you mean his P60 from April 2014?

Yes, the bank statements should be fine (if it's been printed by the bank, it doesn't actually need to be stamped... it's only online statements you have printed at home that need to be stamped and signed, to prove they haven't been forged).

You only really need the marriage certificate and 1-2 photos, but as you are applying in person, there's no harm in taking it all and seeing if they ask for it.

I believe it does apply to all FLR(M) applications now, although your tenancy agreements should count for two of the documents.

You do need to show proof that you both live at the same address as each other. It seems a bit silly if you are on a fiance visa, because you won't have been living together for long.

Is there anything at all that he receives in the post to your address?

I would take everything you possible can to the appointment... If you can't provide the required 6 documents in each name, you should explain why not.

Yep, they look good to me.

You just need to add a passport photo of him and scrounge up as many documents in his name, sent to your address, as you can find (even if they aren't on the list of suitable documents, I would take them anyway).

Yep, actually do have a photo of him included too, just forgot to mention it! Whoops. And yep, P60, not PAYE.

I'm erring on the side of bringing extra since it's in-person...

Do we need letters for every 3 months? Is that how it works? We've been living together since July 2013. First tenancy agreement was july 2013-september 2014, the renewal is september - september.

as always, thanks for the help ksand!

Okay, going through everything I can find in our flat, here's what I've got for mail for him or both of us (there's more just in my name)

-tenancy agreement signed july 2013
-deposit scheme letter, august 2013
-council tax letter march 2014 (we paid this all at once, hence no more letters)
-tax letters refund/PAYE letters, april 2014
-electric bill, april 2014 (covers period from jan-april, if that helps?)
-new tenancy agreement, august 2014
-council tax update (owed more as my course ended), october 2014

so obviously I'm worried about that big gap in the middle, from august until march. but if we only need 1 letter for every 4 months (which was mentioned here: http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=83877.0) could the 4 month period be aug/sept/oct/dec 2013 (covered) then jan/feb/march/april 2014 (also covered)?

Hey guys, really hoping for some more feedback here. Also, as it wasn't until the latest forms that require all the mail, do we think that the visa office might be sympathetic in that we weren't prepared for that change in the rules?
