Moving Cat Back to USA
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:55:20 PM »
Hi, I'm looking for a company to ship my cat back to Kentucky from London and I'm not having much success. I shipped her over to Scotland about 5 years ago from the US with no problems. The company was extremely helpful and they did a door-to-door delivery. I asked them for a quote and they wanted over $3000 (which is not happening).

I've looked at companies over here in Britain and the nearest they will fly her is Indianapolis, which is still going to be a 3 hour drive to pick her up which I don't want to dump on the in-laws. Are there any companies that do door-to-door in Britain without costing an arm and a leg? I thought that this would be easy this time since she all ready has a passport and just needs a rabies shot and health certificate. Groan! I'd be grateful of any advice or recommendations of companies to use.

Thanks,
Elena

Hey, not sure about the companies but are you traveling back to the US on the same flight?

We moved our cats back to Dallas from London, I think it was JCS Cargo or something like that. Very nice, we dropped them off at their kennel, they made the crates for them and we picked them up in Dallas. They were on our flight. It was $1200.

I am trying to figure this out as well for 2 cats and a small dog. It is hard to even find links on-line. Called Delta and they then gave me their Uk number. They said they have decreased the size of the cargo so no longer ship pets.

Lufthansa sounds like it may be a good option?

Lufthansa does look pretty good. Another very inexpensive option, although you'd need to fly out of Germany, is Air Berlin. They only charge 150 euros for pets in cargo and have non-stop flights to several US cities (i.e. LA, NY, etc.)
