Has this happened to anyone else?
« on: November 29, 2014, 07:46:17 PM »
I have just realised through browsing on the Meeting Section of this forum that I had spoken to my best friend briefly before actually meeting her by chance 2 years later.

She had posted about meeting fellow Americans in Sheffield: I responded a couple of times, but nothing ever came of it. Six months ago, she walked into my work and we instantly clicked and became fast friends.

Maybe I'm feeling a bit nostalgic because she's now moved back to the States with her English hubby, but I thought it was strange that she posted on here in 2012 and then just randomly walked into my work 2 years later, and I've only just figured that out.

Has that happened to anyone else?  ;D

Wow, that's really random :).

I had a similar thing happen once. When I studied abroad in the US, I made friends with a couple of Australian students. Funnily enough, one of them had just visited England before moving to the US and had stayed with a friend of his, who lived just 10 miles from me.

Turned out that the friend he stayed with was my high school best friend's old babysitter and that he'd actually shopped in the Boots store I worked in, while I was in there, a few weeks earlier. We didn't cross paths in the UK, but we met a couple of weeks later in the US, 5,000 miles away!

I grew up and went to college in Wisconsin, then moved to California where I worked in a winery as a tour guide. During that time (about 4 years after I graduated), I was cleaning out my e-mail inbox and found some old messages from college friends which mentioned a girl called Katie, who was friends with my friends but whom I wasn't close to and had basically forgotten about. "Oh, yeah, Katie," I thought to myself. "Forgot about her."

A week later, Katie came in to the winery where I worked and went on my tour.

Les yeux dans les mêmes reflets,
Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

How very strange!  ;D I think these stories are cool though.

A friend and I moved to Australia about 4 years ago and one of my other really good friends from high school was dating a guy from there, so she was going to be in Sydney at the same time that we were. Before we flew over, she was telling us about these two guys that were friends with her boyfriend, Simon and Adam.

My friend and I had no idea what Simon and Adam looked like and had only heard about them. One day, we were sitting outside of a cafe and these two guys came over and started to talk to us. Turns out it was Simon and Adam.  :D
