New here- In Love with a Brit
« on: February 17, 2015, 04:58:20 PM »
Hello Everyone,

New to this forum, I am currently in love with a guy from London, and the question has come about what where and how do we want our relationship to progress. Making my first trip over there next month to really spend more time with him and begin to even figure out who is going where but that's down the road. I have been lurking in the Enduring the Distance forum, and you will probably see more of me in there.

In a nutshell, it's easier to meet the requirements for him to the US but takes longer.  It's quicker to move here but strict requirements for visa sponsorship.

Student and spouse visas are the easiest.   :)

Hi, wishing you the best of luck.  Been there. Immigration to the UK is easier if you have 2 years' proof of the relationship; otherwise they get a bit suspicious.  I kept our emails, messages from the Instant Messenger where we were proclaiming our love for each other, etc...  They will also want photos of you with his relatives, and him with your relatives (at least, they did ask this of me). So take plenty of photos when you come to the UK.

Keep all correspondence, scrupulously obey the rules, brace yourself for difficulties and be polite. Also - welcome!
