Definition of "troll"
« on: March 13, 2015, 04:36:20 PM »
I am seeing this a lot lately:

Trolls target Top Gear producer who was 'slapped'

Apparently they are using direct abusive language/threats.

"Trolling" means to sneakily seed a comment into a thread that riles people up and gets an argument going. A "troll" is someone who does this, not one who just says mean things.

Did this change?
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Change from what?  The creatures who live under bridges, or the dolls with the crazy hair?

Yes. I've noticed people are being called Trolls if they just disagree with someone. They don't even have to sound mean. I think society loves to slap labels on people, personally. It's getting ridiculous
