Hello UK Yankee Friends,
Seeing as my visa application is in the stages of submission and I've been in countdown mode for my wedding/move, I thought I'd finally take the plunge and sign up/post on this forum!
I'm marrying the love of my life on June 5th in Surrey, having a reception back here in Florida later that month, and then applying for a spousal visa to return (hopefully) by the end of the summer. I'm in the middle of waiting for a marriage visit visa - have my biometrics appointment Monday - and it's close to the most stressful thing I've ever done in my life. It's amazing how this actually matches some of the long-distance relationship stress. It doesn't help that UPS lost a parcel for several days.
Anyway, I look forward to having an expat community to participate in, even virtually! It helps that I love England, but it's going to be a hard transition, whether I'm thrilled or not.
Congratulations and good luck to everyone else here in a similar boat...I've got loads of experience dealing with evidence documentation, attorneys, applications, and which visa means what - hopefully I can share it and help with those who need it, while gaining new experience and help myself!
Cheers,
Jesse
