Sailor's LIVE eclipse posting spectacular
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:17:15 AM »
Hi folks.

As a first, I will be posting live as the solar eclipse descends (descends?) on Cambridgeshire.

Conditions:

Cloudy
Wind light and varying.
5c

I believe it is due to arrive in about 10 to 15 minutes.

I should have looked that up beforehand.

Very eerie here in the run-up. A definite sense that something is about to happen. One can only wonder what it must have been like before science, when the planets were gods.

A car slowly drives past the office. I can hear an ice cream truck nearby....making hay while the sun shines?

We are approaching the apex (apex?) here in Cambridgeshire. It seems darkish out there but the steely East Anglian sky is greedy today, hiding away its treasures...

Across the street there is an old man in a t-shirt listening to a rock and roll station..

Was cloudy here.  Got darkish like dusk but certainly couldn't see anything.  Sad really.   :\\\'(

 ;D

Yeah, it did get darkish just before the eclipse -- rather eerie.  And I can assure you it was visible briefly in Leeds if the cloud cover cooperated for you.  Yeah, it really did happen.
