Shipping Documents to Sheffield
« on: July 27, 2015, 01:30:41 PM »
Good afternoon, I've search and read a few topics regarding shipping documents to Sheffield and still a bit puzzled so was hoping someone who have shipped within the last month or so can give me some advice.

VFS, UPS or DHL?

If using UPS or DHL, when you purchase the return shipping label do you have to submit a envelope for the return documents also or will the home office supply one once they've made their decision.
Hope I am making sense, any advice and help will be much appreciated. My wife will be submitting her and my stepdaughter application from New York. Cheers.

Well, VFS is UPS shipping, it's just pre-paid and fixed price, and you pay for it on the VFS website instead of on the UPS website.

Other than that, it's up to you. I would see which service offers the best price for your documents. The VFS service charges PER application, while if you go directly through UPS or DHL, you will only have to pay one fee for the package not a few per application.

You can do any of the following:

- Pay for just the return shipping back to the US with VFS ($134 per application... so $268 in total - UPS shipping) and ship it to Sheffield yourself using UPS or DHL.

- Pay for both outbound and return shipping with VFS ($216 per application, so $432 in total) If you do this, you will need to go to a UPS store to get a UPS envelope for the documents to be mailed in.

- Don't use VFS at all and just ship it yourself using either UPS or DHL, and include your online UPS/DHL account number (or an international waybill create on the UPS/DHL website) with your package so they can charge your account for the return shipping when they send it back. If you send them both in the same package (which you are supposed to do), it should be much cheaper than using VFS as you won't have to pay per application.

Yes, you will need to include return packaging.
