What I had for lunch today (A Taco Bell Story)
« on: November 14, 2004, 07:31:50 PM »
Yes, that's right folks.  I have have to brag for just a wee teeny moment.  I went up this weekend to visit my very pregnant friend up at RAF Lakenheath.  And we had SO MUCH Taco Bell for lunch!  Oh. My. Goodness!  But soooooo gooood!   ;D ;D ;D

It was so weird having Taco Bell without going through jet lag first.  And what a weird experience to go into a place so American while in England.  They had American milk, American magazines, even American dog food!  It was so strange.

Not all good really since it has meant that the poor girl has lived here in England since January and hasn't got a single British thing in her house and didn't even know what Sainsbury's was!  Very sad.

Anyway, I now have two bean burritos in my fridge and I am in (bloated) heaven.  Just had to share.  :)

I'm going up again in December....anyone wanna put in an early order?   ;D

This might be a dumb question.....but, where is this place that you went to and ate at Taco Bell?   I love Taco Bell and mexican food, esp. being from Texas.  I have tried TGI Fridays, but it is just not the same.

Thanks.

I believe you'll need to be invited onto the base or get a lift in with someone who's in the military.

Sounds nice but considering it's Taco Bell...I can wait till late December when I go to San Antonio for a week :)

Bleeech.. Taco Bell.  :::shudder:::
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

Back home, Taco Bell has been selling kits for some of their dishes, jars of sauce, etc; I wonder if it's possible to get some of the stores here to start carrying them, ala the Old El Paso stuff? Hmmmm......must look into this. I've had their Nacho kit and it's very good (if you like Taco Bell).

We had them in Florida before Taco Bell.  I think the only Fast Food I miss is Popeye's Fried Chicken.

I do!  Late night drunken runs to Jack off Barton Springs Road in Austin, TX!  Oh, yes.  They stayed open till 3AM, and n/thing hit the spot like their tacos along w/some of those fried batter sticks coated with sugar and cinnamon.
