The American's ElectionFest 2016
« on: September 08, 2016, 11:31:15 AM »
Hi All,

We thought an event we're planning ahead of the US Elections could be of interest for those of you Americans on this forum in the UK! Just in case you haven't come across The American magazine before, we're a bi-monthly magazine for Americans in the UK, and Brits with American interests.

We're hosting a big event in London on September 27th called ElectionFest, which will focus on the upcoming US Elections, and how they affect Americans living abroad. The event is to take place at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms, right next to where the new US Embassy is to be based, so a great way to see the development in person.

The event is going to have representatives of the FVAP (Federal Voting Assistance Programme) in attendance to help Americans living overseas to register and apply for overseas ballot papers, and a panel discussion including representatives of Democrats Abroad and Republicans Overseas, as well as other political pundits and Harry Shearer, who you may know as the voice of Mr Burns on The Simpsons! The event won't all be serious, it also features American comedian Rich Hall, and there will be music, food and lots of fun too.

You can find more details on the event via our website: newcomer link: http://www.theamerican.co.uk/pr/ElectionFest-2016.php [nonactive] - tickets are just £10 at the moment and we'd love to welcome Americans to the event, if you'd like to get involved in any other way, do let us know via our e-mail, theamerican@blueedge.co.uk.

Many thanks for your time to read this!

Best wishes,

The Team @ The American magazine
