Received my passports and docs today. My application has been approved and they are sending out my BRP in 7 working days :)

Bloody hell thats pretty much 6 months. I think they just sit on it right until it's about to hit 6 months and then deal with it.

Likely.  The processing probably takes 10 minutes, tops.

DX delivered my BRP card this morning.

Type of Permit: Settlement
Remarks: No Time Limit
Valid Until: 31-12-2024

So I take it the renewal process in 2017 will be a fairly straightforward?

I have finally received my passports back with confirmation that my card will be with me in 7 days.. to say I am relieved is an understatement as am travelling in less than a month. I am not sure if it has been processed quickly because I got my MP involved who I thought wasn't particularly helpful or whether they just finally got to my application but I don't care now as I can stop worrying. Good luck to everyone waiting, mine took just under 4 months from start to finish.

Oh man, 4 months!  You are so lucky.

On Friday I got a letter saying I've been turned down.  I've been so dejected I haven't posted the letter, Im going to do it in another thread.
Glad it worked for both of you.
