Arrival/ LHR/ Passport control
« on: April 02, 2017, 12:24:38 AM »
A friend recently arrived in London through LHR and waited 5 hours in the passport queue. Is that normal these days? has anyone else had to deal with that or worse, greater scrutiny at entry points?

my last entrance at Heathrow was 2 and a half hours. Im sure with everything that happened in the last few weeks they have up security even more. That being said I always try to if possible fly into Gatwick. Their immigration control line is always a bit less.

Not normal.  Usually a wait like that would make the news (which I don't watch so it may have).

What about via Eurostar/ Gare du Nord or Bruxelles-Midi? That's usually so relaxing by comparison.

My mom once waited about 4 hours; however, that was during a strike and there were very few IOs working.
