April Timeline

So one more for the April people!

Sent my NON-PRIORITY application on 11 April, and the tracking says they received it at 8:30am today. I got a confirmation email from Sheffield at 9:03am.

And now the waiting! 

More info about me: I'm not a US citizen, I have a green card, although I've been living in this country for about ten years now!  My husband is a Brit, and we have a son together - who, incidentally, has three citizenships: Brit, American, and Filipino!

It does feel like a long wait too and its only just been sent to sheffield! wont arrive till tuesday with the bank holidays .. it has been sent priority though so fingers crossed

After sitting in the March waiting room for a whole month and then having to start all over in April, I feel like putting a nice comfy recliner in here.

Joining the April group! We're officially applying tomorrow. VFS global website has been down for two days, can't get past the "not a robot" verification. Here's to hoping that sorts itself out in time for us to be able to get priority!

It might not be worked on today as it's a National Holiday here in the UK.  Easter Monday (annoying for US folks applying but you'll love it when you are here).

Yeah I had already figured that one. :/

Oh yay!  Another Kate.  Welcome to the waiting room. 

Officially in the waiting room now! Just left "the beast" (my package nickname) at UPS. The guy must've thought I was crazy. I almost forgot to write "PRIORITY" on the envelope. 

So my timeline is this:

Met my husband 2002
Married 2004
Have always lived in USA, had 3 kids
Hubby got job in UK, started April 3, 2017

Online PRIORITY application submitted April 5, 2017
Biometrics April 13, 2017
Sent to Sheffield April 17, 2017

Now I can "relax" --

Biometrics submitted today, and package sent off to lawyers!

We did priority, so I'm hoping that we will get an answer in 6-ish weeks. *biting nails*

Still, the burden is off our shoulders. We've done everything we can, and now it's time for us to start getting ready for the big move. I'm slowly collecting stuff to give away, but an awful lot will have to wait until just before I leave. *sigh* I'm scared we'll get the visa with only 10 days' notice, although of course that will be better than a rejection.

It's a great feeling! I am nervous too, but I think we all have been great resources for one another and the guidance from Ksand and Kfdancer is wonderful. We got this! AV, you're my application buddy now...we should be on the same timeline. 

Application submitted today! Was able to purchase through VFS...I think I just got lucky and their website came together for just enough time for me to do that.
