Hello everyone, I'm on the April timeline. Sheffield received the application April 7. This is my second application. The first one I sent received the "your application is being reviewed by an officer" email quickly after arriving in Sheffield. So far I have not received this email that time around. When I called them, they said it hadn't been opened yet. Seems like such a crappy shoot. Should I be worried that we haven't received a confirmation email from them yet?

Hi Candice, welcome.  Things have slowed quite a bit unfortunately, did you use priority this time?

Currently people who applied priority around the same time are waiting 22-26 working days.

Non-priority seems to be about 10 to 11 weeks of waiting time.

I had no idea that there was a priority option!!

I have two kids, one born in the UK. My husband is a Brit, supposed to start a job there June 1 and I'm 27 weeks pregnant. Needed to get to the UK to be with family to help with babies.

Your husband could go ahead of course but that doesn't help you any...

Total nightmare

Both myself and another on the board applied for priority after we sent in our applications.
She applied a month after submitting her documents in, and still got an answer within the normal priority time.

Please call the help line (even though it cost money) and they will give you the exact instructions on what to do.

I am counting the day the poster said Sheffield sent them a confirmation e-mail -- and my business day counting should be accurate -- accounting for holidays etc. I am basically done with my semester (I teach/study), and am waiting to join my husband...so this is how I'm passing my time

I'm just concerned that it is so rare, we don't have enough data to know how they do it. For example if there is no longer protocol for handling 'upgrades', some might end up at the bottom of the priority pile after switching. Soon after applying it might be worth a shot, but after a month or so I feel it is riskier than waiting it out!

I feel you. I book a trip to Iceland, leaving June 11th, and then on to the UK afterwards. It didn't even occur to me that it would take longer than the normal priority timeline. Should've known!! Every time I think about it I feel sick. I don't want to cancel

Oh yeah.. I have my wedding ceremonly on JULY 1 in italy... although I may be doing it from facetime if i dont get my passport back in time  :
