I don't have the itchy issue, but I have kind of vaguely looking-but-not-looking noticed the lack of plain artichoke hearts.  But since I didn't have all the other ingredients, I didn't worry about that one too much.  (I never used the little block of frozen spinach they sell in America before this recipe came my way, but now I noticed it's not available in this form over here... I'm not sure how it translates to the big loose bag of frozen spinach here...?  And we all know about sour cream here vs. the US.)
Our frozen spinach comes in big pellets like something you would put in a wood stove

Yeah, I can't be bothered with it. A lot of work for very little reward!  ;D
I have a vague memory that we used just steam them and then pull the leaves off and dip in mayo and pull through your teeth.    We used to go on holiday in Brittany and for some reason they are crazy for artichoke.  Even the babyfood comes in artichoke flavor.

Yes, I remember the teeth thing too! They are not going to take care of any sort of hunger, that's for sure!  ;D

I definitely used to do that with friends at uni.  One of my friends made a fantastic dip for the leaves.  I don't remember exactly what was in it, but it was Asian inspired with tahini, sesame, soy, and honey.  I think we loved the dipping sauce and used the leaves as vehicles for getting the sauce into our mouths.

(the leaves are tasty though)

I've seen the frozen spinach bags in the shop's website, but thd picture shows loose leaves of lettuce, and I've never bought it to investigate further, so thanks.  I could probably figure out how to translate those frozen pellets into the block.

I have a vague memory that we used just steam them and then pull the leaves off and dip in mayo and pull through your teeth.

This is how we did it, too.  Except I think my dad straight up boiled them, rather than steaming them.  I don't even remember my parents' house having any sort of steaming setup until my little sister (9 years and 3 weeks younger than me) got a saucepan/steamer basket set when she was in her teens.

I'm not sure what we did when we got to the hearts when I was kid, but I feel like there was a point when we stopped eating the leaves before reaching the middle.  And then years later I found myself buying rather expensive tins of the things I thought we just threw away when I was growing up.   ???

I just noticed I typed lettuce.  I don't know why.  The bags obviously showed loose leaves of spinach.  And now I can't edit it because it's been so long.  Anyway.  I can get frozen spinach.  I just didn't know in what form, and I appreciate the description.  And I did know what food was inside the bag.  Really.  Oh, also, "the", not "thd".  I remember when I could type coherent sentences.

According to the list a few pages ago (which may or may not be accurate now), @Nan D. is up next?  Nan, are you still playing?

I know; I'm okay posting to the US if Nan would like to still participate.  :)  If not though, no worries!

That's very kind of you, though I think it would cost quite a bit for you to mail it to me and around $40 for me to mail a box of under 4lbs (US) back to the UK.  I probably should be off this list. But appreciate the thought!

Just giving this a little bump.

As things are inching a tad more towards normal, would anyone like to be next on the list?  :D
