Hello everyone! My name is Kathryn, and I'm a South Dakotan married to a Yorkshireman.
We met online when we were kids, (I was 11, he was 15) and our friendship grew into a romance once we met in real life after we were older and had the means. We both went back and forth, spending our summers together and Christmases as much as possible. He then moved to the states after he was done with university and I was in the middle of mine. We brought him over on a fiance visa and married a month after. We've been married over 7 years, him being 32 and me being 28 now. We live in the US and are looking to move soon, probably to Sheffield where his family lives, but we are also looking in the areas surrounding the Peak District.
Currently I work in manufacturing and he is learning web development, even though we both have degrees in other fields which are hard to nail jobs down in the area we live (I have an Anthropology degree and he has a Sound Engineering degree).
We want to move to be closer to his family, and at the same time start our own. I love my family and I know I will miss them, but ultimately, we both feel as if we don't fit here anymore and are ready to take the plunge.
I've read several posts already and absolutely love this forum!
