So... if my entry on a marriage visa was February 1, 2013, and my first FLR (M) was June 5, 2013 (that was my in-person appointment date), I go with 5 years from June 5, 2013, as my 5-year start date, right?  So i can apply up to 28 days before 5 June, 2018... May 9th, or thereabouts.  And I can book an in-pwrson appointment up to 42 days before that... so it is possible that I could pay before the fee increase, too (assuming it's not early again).  That means instead of paying the fee increase, I could pay for in-person instead, and it wouldn't cost too much more that a slow application after the anticipated fee increase.  Yes?

This is exactly what I did for my FLR. I booked my May appointment at the beginning of April and the very next day they announced the price increase.

As far as I could tell, the only significant difference is the LiUK, the minimum time in the UK to be eligible, and the lack of IHS.  Yes?

I looked at it back when it first came out but that sounds about right.   :)

You are my new hero!  My luck has always gone the other way around... For example, last time around, I printed my FLR(M) and they updated the application the very next day.

But it looks like the first Saturday I'll be able to apply (in-person) is May 12th.  And 42 days before that is March 24th.  So on March 24th, if the 2018 fee increase isn't effective yet, I'll be booking my in-person!  And 7 weeks later, we will be done!
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

I'm going to have to work that all out myself. :)  We're just a little bit ahead of you.
I'm really glad though that KFdancer has volunteered to go first to pave the way for all the rest of us!  ;)

I had to do exactly that! 79 new pages to reflect the price that I didn't have to pay.  ;D

I love this forum so much.  I could never have survived all of this visa cr@p without you guys.

79 sheets of paper and a bit of ink are a small price to pay, compared to that fee change you avoided!  Seriously... hero!
