TIER 4 TO FLR M FINANCIAL REQUIREMENT
« on: October 30, 2017, 12:19:18 PM »
Hi Everyone,

My husband is applying for a switch from Tier 4 to FLR M tomorrow. As a last minute decision, we are thinking of just relying on my income to meet the financial requirement.
I currently earn 22,128 as gross annual income from a job I started in January 2017. I have payslips for 6 months from April to October and bank statements to show this income.  I also have a letter from my employer to confirm this.
I, however, want to know if I should have earned 18600 (minimum requirement) in the past 9 months of work. Plus is this category A or B?

We just want to know if this is sufficient because even though my husband is currently working, his payslips look complicated and we don't want to complicate issues for ourselves if we can solely rely on my income.

thanks

If you have been with your employer for at least 6 months AND you have been earning at least £18,600 for that entire time, then it will be Category A.

You’ll need to make sure your latest bank statement and payslip are dated within the last 28 days, as well as your employer letter. You should also take your original job contract and latest P60.

What income were you going to use to meet the requirement instead of your income?

If you meet the requirement solely based on your income, you should only apply using that income only and leave his income blank on the application. UKVI will only want to see evidence of that one income, so including your husband’s employment too will only complicate the application.

Thank you for your reply.
#We were going to rely on both our incomes which totals about 34,080. My latest bank statements and letter from my employer are dated in the last 28 days. I will include my contract of employment.

Like I earlier stated, My annual gross income is 22,128, worked in the job for 9months, have 6 months payslips to prove this. But I haven't earned a combined income of up to 18600 (I mean as total gross income for the year) in the 9 months of working. Does this matter.

Any clarification will be appreciated

You don’t need to earn a total of £18,600 in 9 months.

You just need to have been on a salary of at least £18,600 per year for a minimum of 6 months (so that will be at least £9,300 total gross income in those 6 months).

For Category A, it will be calculated as:

Total annual income that can be used for the visa = Lowest gross payslip x 12

As long as this amount is at least £18,600, you will meet the requirement.... which means that as long as none of your payslips is less than £1,550 before tax, you will meet the requirement.

Thank you very much for the clarification, My lowest income before tax in the last 6 months is 1,753 which equals an annual income of 21,036 before tax.

I think it is safer for us to rely on my income alone than complicating things with my husbands since we meet the financial requirement with just mine.

Hopefully, it will be all over by this time tomorrow #stressful times#

THANKYOU
