Good morning everyone,

It turns out that they can and do send multiple requests for additional documents...

We received another email yesterday requesting our marriage certificate! They had 4 copies of it in the pack we sent!!!

The original
2 signed stamped and sealed copies from the clerk and recorders office itself
An A4 sized photocopy.

The email did include an apology though which I guess was kind of nice. I emailed them another 2 scans of the certificate. I only had the signed, stamped and sealed copy of the certificate though.

I stated in my email that the original document was still at the scanning hub in NY and that the scan I sent was a certified copy. Do you think this will be ok?

What an ordeal, I nearly managed to relax a bit yesterday until we got the dreaded email...

Thanks again,

Alex

At least that means they are working on it! Hopefully you'll have your decision soon. :)

I agree with larrabee... walk away from the group :P!

What they are advising you to send is not relevant to your application because you have been living together for 10 years, so instead of sending SMS messages etc., you provide your documents showing you have been living together.

If you had never lived together and had been in a long distance relationship for those 10 years, then you would send things like digital messages, emails, texts, etc. ... because you would be showing that you were in regular communication for all the time that you had been in a relationship, but were not living together.

Thanks you guys. I know what you've said to be true. I just hate seeing the wrong information being disbursed through other outlets. Completely does my head in. :)
Even when life seems at it's most dark and despairing.. there is within the power to make change.

I was saying in one group about the same day decisions being eliminated.  Someone went and posted in other groups to "see if it was true."  They all said no.  Insisted too much money is made from it and not to worry as same day decisions were not going away.

Well, same day decisions are gone.  I tried.  <sigh>

My life has been so much better since leaving them all!  ;D

Well, we got a request for more information last tuesday, sent in the document they wanted... got an acknowledgment this monday, and nothing else so far. It's getting extremely dispiriting.

I know it doesn't feel like it, but that's all good news.  :)

Just to update we received our "Application Received" email on the 17th of December. Now just waiting for them to review it. What do we all think took a month from when it was received in NYC to the delivery in Sheffield? I think I'm more interested in physically what they are doing scanning these for an entire month!

So I don't know whether I am furious or happy right now... I saw someone in the FB group who applied non-priority and had their docs delivered the same day as me got their email today that their app was received. So I just fired off an $8 inquiry email all upset that they were non-priority and already got theirs. When I went to check my email for confirmation of the $8 email inquiry, it went directly to my trash bin where, low and behold, my application received email was sitting from 6 days ago!!!!!! I have added every single UKVI and VFS email address to my safe senders list and incessantly check all day everyday by doing a full email search and somehow it has been hanging out in my trash bin this whole time !!! FU, Gmail!!!!!!!

I bet it was. If mine came through on the 15th and that non-priority person who's docs were delivered the same day as ours got their app received email today, I bet it hit your trash bin a few days ago... I'm still so annoyed I just gave them even more money!!!

I check my spam each day but didn’t think about checking the deleted folder ... isn’t the spam and trash folder the same thing. I haven’t had anything delivered to the spam folder.
