Can I please have a document check for relationship evidence?
« on: November 17, 2017, 09:31:44 PM »
I think I have this section ready but am not totally confident. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

   ▪   Marriage certificate
   ▪   2 personal photos - one wedding, one family portrait of us
       with our children this year
   ▪   Statutory Warranty Deed for 2014 purchase of our home
   ▪   Escrow account statements for our home 2015, 2016, 2017
   ▪   Joint tax return transcripts from the IRS 2006 - 2016

We married in 2006 and never lived apart. Does this look ok? Many thanks in advance!

Hey guys, just bumping this up to see if anyone can have a quick look at it :) I feel like it's either too much or not enough lol. I'm not including any sort of communications or cards between us as we've always lived together but I just want to be sure this is enough to show that. I didn't include the sponsor letter in my list but we'll have that too of course.

We've got the residential stuff now as well now:

   ▪   U.K. tenancy agreement
   ▪   Letter from landlord granting me (by name) permission to occupy the property

Nearly there with the Financial (documents at least), just need actual employment. It's tough with my husband having to come back and forth to work in the US and keep new pay stubs coming in while he looks for something in the UK. I'm wondering if it would be ok for him to meet this requirement with more than 1 job? Could it be 2 lower paying jobs? He just needs something to get through this requirement as we do have savings from the sale of our home but we were short to make category D. He's in the process of having NARIC compare his construction qualifications from the US, but that might take a bit longer than we'd like as we are already renting a house there now.

Also, regarding the pay stubs, when there aren't any because of holidays or time in the UK, do we need to explain for each missing one? He still has made over the required amount with the time off (3 weeks in 12 months).

TIA!

Your relationship evidence looks perfect.  I'd keep it as is.

Hmmm... we haven't had someone use two jobs for the OFFER side of the requirement before that I can recall.  Two jobs is definitely okay to meet the requirements, just a bit unusual to have that for the initial visa....   ::)

Ah! Thank you so much! It's a relief to have a couple of the requirements met anyway. As far as the job goes, still hoping it will be just one job as that's not unreasonable, just takes more time than we allowed ourselves. I'm feeling a bit desperate at the moment (trying to plan Christmas for the kids with their dad going back and forth is not helping!), so thought it worth asking. Not sure I'd want to even attempt to apply with any unusual circumstances though.

Thanks again for your help!

Only thing I’ll add to this is that if either of you has been married before, you must include your divorce paperwork.

Thanks! Not the case for us but a good reminder for anyone it does apply to that stumbles across this post .  :)

Hi Dani - did you have to pay for any of those transcripts? I need transcripts from 2005 to present and it appears on the IRS website that they will only send four years worth for free - am I missing something?

Hi there, nope I didn't have to pay for them, just print and mail in the request form. It's on the IRS Get Transcript page, under the "get transcript by mail" button. I mailed mine requesting 2 years transcripts, 10 business days ago and haven't received them yet. They are usually really good about getting them out fast though.

I have one more question for documentation.

I used tax transcripts for every year of our marriage EXCEPT 2011 and 2012 because I never ordered them. I went to IRS site and it said I'd need to fill out a specific form for transcripts over 4 years ago. I did that and they never came. I went back and re-read it, and it said I may need to call the number and request them. I did that and it said the dates weren't valid and the call disconnects with no further options.

Now it would appear that my time waiting on them is up. So, I printed out my 1040 tax returns for those 2 years from my files. I figured they wouldn't be viewed as "original" as they're printed copies. So I printed my corresponding bank statements from those months showing the exact same dollar amounts deposited as "External Deposit US Treasury - TAX REF" and will have them stamped at my bank today and a quick note on it in my cover letter. Should I include the statements at all and if so will this work?
