US Marriage Certificate for British Passport Name Change

Dear All,

My British spouse would like to change her name to her new married on her British Passport. Does the regular state issued US Marriage certificate is automatically approved or recognsied for name change? Do we have to authenticate it and make an apostille by Department of State?

Please give us guidance on that.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your instant response. Also, Would the DVLA , Banks in the UK would recognise it? I know for British Citizen as long as you changed name on Passport thats it but asking in General for foreign spouses.

The UK recognises US marriages and the certificate is in English.  Easy peasy
