Job offer and National Insurance Number application
« on: January 30, 2018, 05:25:56 PM »
Hi everyone,

We arrived in the UK at the end of December and my wife has legal right to work via her spouse visa.

She has attended an interview, and been offered a job. She applied for her National Insurance Number over the phone about three weeks ago, and sent off the paper application two weeks ago. She was told it takes typically up to 6 weeks to process.

The company who has offered her a job is now stating that if she is unable to provide a NiNo by her start date in March, they will have to revoke the offer.

She has provided all documents related to her right to work - BRP card, passport with visa, National Insurance reference number. She was told by Work & Pensions that she is able to work for 12 weeks without the NiNo.

Any thoughts? She has tried calling but can't get through to anyone to inquire about her application.

Thanks!
