Moving cats on my own/without a pet moving co.?
« on: March 20, 2018, 01:23:15 PM »
Anyone recently moved pet(s) without using a pet relocation company? I'd sure like the save the $4k it's going to cost to use one!
What have your experiences been with/without a relocation company?

Not recently but I did it 5 years ago and managed fine. You need the same attention to detail that's required for the spouse visa application so if you've just done that, you'll be in the right mindset!  :)

I’ll be moving Winston on my own too. I love him dearly, but can’t afford the huge cost of a pet mover!

I did this 6 years ago and am looking at doing it again. I sent my paperwork to ARC and to the State USDA vet multiple times to make sure it was correct. It is tricky, but ARC (or maybe JCS livestock) and the state vet were wonderful, quick and very helpful.

Hi JackS15

Did you end up moving your pet on your own? I'm curious how it turned out? I'm also trying to get our 2 cats over to the UK in July and would really prefer not to spend $4k-$5k!

Thank you
