Hey guys, random question. What is the difference between/benefits of VFS priority service and the premium service package where you have to go to one of their premium locations? Does that expedite the process more than just the priority service?

Avoid the expensive Settlement Gold premium service!  Avoid!  It's a relatively new service and a few of our forum members tried it out.  It just cost them a lot more money, a lot more stress, and it took longer.  Just do settlement priority for ~$800 (I don't know how much it is exactly since the recalculation, but around that price... that's the one you want).

DO NOT use the Gold Premium Settlement service. It is a complete waste of money and the staff don't know what they are doing, which means you don't get the service you paid for.

The Gold Premium service seems to take twice as long as priority so basically, you are paying about $800 extra just for the option to keep your passport!

Three people from the forum have used it so far... two were very unsatisfied with the service - they didn't get the service their paid for, plus their visas took 2 months, when normal priority applications submitted after theirs only took a few days.  Two of them have made formal complaints, and one has received a partial refund for the service (not sure about the other). I don't know how the third person got on.

Hey guys, just working on my application. I assume I now have to answer yes to the question "have you been refused a visa for any country including the UK in the last 10 years?"  And for the reason can I put missing paperwork?

We tried to contact Medivisas several times Friday but no luck, I've sent them an email and hopefully we hear back tomorrow re the correct category!

Answer yes. I would be inclined to say lawyer error led to refusal.
You should include the refusal paperwork too so they will easily be able to see for themselves.

Yes, you will need to declare the refusal and include your refusal letter with your application documents.

For the reason for refusal, state the reason: lawyer error with missing employer letter and discrepancy with payslip deposits.

You should also explain the refusal in a cover letter and you can also state how you have fixed the reason for the refusal.

Thanks both of you, I've updated it. I'm working on our cover letter now and I will make sure we include a copy of our refusal paperwork.

Perhaps block out all your private information in that letter that can identify you. This is an open forum that anyone can read.

Just received suggested wording from our accountant to address the discrepancies in my husband's payslips and deposit amounts. Does this sound appropriate?

That looks really good.  I would add in the amount of the payslips and the discrepencies.  For example,

April 1, 2018 payslip is £1,000.  However, the deposited amount in the bank account was £1,000.01.  This was due to a rounding error in an Excel spreadsheet.  We now use Sage to process payroll so this will not happen again.

May 1, 2018 payslip is £1,000.  However, the deposited amount in the bank account was £950.  This was due to the updated pension scheme and an error in the calculation.  This was corrected and on May 5, 2018, the missing £50 was deposited into XXX's account, bringing the May deposited amount inline with the payslip issued on May 1, 2018.
