I secretly think he just doesn't want to make a decision. ;)

Are we married to the same man?  We looked at EVERY CAR IN ENGLAND before my husband FINALLY picked one.

And I am married to a man child who would have bought the first car he saw just because he was so excited.  I had to steer him away from the Ford Focus Estate Wagon... seriously.

At least my husband has narrowed it down.  He just narrowed it down so much that it's looking impossible to satisfy every criterion.  I'm not kidding when I said it's a magical unicorn car.  I don't think we're going to find one that ticks all the boxes!  If we didn't need it so badly because the campervan is not meant to be a daily runner, then I'd just roll my eye and shrug it off.  But he needs this car more than I do!  (Obviously... I've lived 5-1/2 years without a car now.  I could go indefinitely now, if I needed to.  I'm acclimated.)

Haha, mine was similar! Thankfully with my health issues, a number were already out for the diesel emissions and needing automatic for my legs.

So how much should a used car cost you? Here (Texas) I would expect to pay ~$20k for a decent used car with less than 40k miles

Well it'll depend on all the usual variables, but you can get something decent for far less than that!  :)

Did you notice the £1000 price on the car I picked out?  That's all anyone has left after paying for rent and buying a train ticket.

The only people here who are buying 20k cars work in finance and live in the middle of nowhere...

Ok. I admit I've been secretly coveting a car. In looking at some of these links, I see that there are manual, automatic, and "semi-automatic" transmissions.

SO, with an "automatic" driver's license, can one drive a "semi-automatic" transmission car? And what the heck is a "semi-automatic" transmission?

Ours was 2.5 years old and about £8k. £0 Road tax and in a good insurance band.

Have a look at cargiant.co.uk.  They are like Car MAx with non-negotiable prices.  Decent cars (usually former fleet vehicles).

Cars hold NO value here.  I bought a 6 year old BMW M5 for £14k.  It retailed at over £60k new.  I had an 8 year old Nissan 350Z for £5k.  And my current car was a 3 year old Mercedes C220 for £16k.  Husband's 2.5 year old BMW 520D was £21k.

Jimbo, come out to our neck of the woods.  You should see some of the cars people drive.  And I wouldn't say we are in the middle of no where!

Did you fond it as cornmeal?  I've not tried it yet, but I thought I was looking for polenta...?

we have a great little tex-mex restaurant here in Liverpool called Mesquite, little hole in the wall place but the owner/chef is from Colorado, all made fresh right there, posting this as location is easy to miss and they are struggling to attract customers. Probably the best southwest food ive ever had
