IHS receipt
« on: June 15, 2018, 09:37:43 PM »
Hello, I just completed everything I need for my online application (yay!) I have everything in my possession except an "IHS payment receipt"

I received 2 emails:

The first one said, "TRANSACTION CONFIRMATION. Please retain for your records." It also said, "On completion of your IHS application you will also be emailed a copy of your IHS reference number, which you will need for your immigration application."

I then paid the IHS surcharge.

The second email said, "This email confirms your immigration health surcharge (IHS) reference number. If you made a payment, you should have received a separate email receipt from Worldpay." It gave me the REFERENCE NUMBER.

I do not have *anything* from "world pay" that resembles a receipt, and I am a bit worried. I don't know if that reference number e-mail is all I need. I re-visited my application details, and the "IHS Surcharge Completed" tab can't be clicked on since I paid already.

Can someone tell me if I have what I need or if I need to do something else?

I have since completed the online application, printed it, etc etc. and I have all of my other supporting documents. I have my Biometric Appointment Confirmation, I just need to get it stamped.

Also, when I printed my online application, the website still says "next step: print application" which I did. Will that turn green or go away? I want to make sure it knows I'm done. On the printed application, there is a space for a passport photo. Do I need to add that photo myself? I remember part of my required documents was a new passport sized photo.

Also Also, when I attend biometrics, I know I have to bring a copy of my online application. Do I bring the one I intend to mail off, or a different one?

You just need your IHS reference number included somewhere on the application.

It can either be written on the front of the printed online application form, and/or you can print the email receipt with the IHS reference number on it.

Either way, it's the reference number itself which is important.

The online application is not transmitted anywhere so no one will even see it until it arrives in Sheffield... so as long as you have actually printed it, I don't think it really matters whether it turns green or not.

No, don't attach the passport photo, just include it separately with your documents.

You do not need to take a copy of your online application with you to biometrics, because they are taken by US immigration and they don't care what visa you are applying for.

You just take:
- your passport
- your printed biometrics confirmation sheet with the barcode on it

When you attend the appointment, they will check your ID, stamp your confirmation sheet, take your fingerprints and photo and send you home. Shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

Once you have done biometrics, you place your passport and the stamped sheet with the application forms and your documents and mail them all to Sheffield within 5 days.
