More questions regarding the financial proof -

My official July bank statement might not be able to be mailed to me in time - it is however available to download from the bank's website.

I have Jan-Jun monthly bank statements at hand. But my pay slips are from February to July. I have a printed out January pay slip but it was certified by our finance department on 02 July which is more than 28 days away from my appointment date.

I understand I need to bring Feb-Jul bank statement and Feb-Jul pay slips as the proof of last 6 months income. Is that correct? Is there any leg room that I can use my Jan-Jun bank statement & pay slips instead?

If not, I wonder if I can use a printed out July statement or should I bring it to a branch and ask them to certify the copy?

I feel I might have over-complicated this but I really want to eliminate any possible mistake...

Go to your bank and ask them to print a statement in the branch.  Use that.  You DEFINITELY need the July statement and payslip as you are applying in August.  :)

Okaaay I got back from an HSBC branch and they printed out my July statement but it doesn't cover my July salary(the statement ends on 17th July but my salary was paid on 24th July). They also printed out the latest transaction list(temp statement) which contains my July salary. But the staff told me they don't certify any statements/transaction copies anymore. The temp statement doesn't even have HSBC letterhead.

The copies I got from the branch look no different from the ones I could print out at home.

Is that gonna be a problem? Any thoughts?  ???

If it says on it somewhere that it was printed in branch then that's fine, if not I would try another branch.  And just ask for the page to be stamped, asking for it to be certified might be putting them off.

Got back from another branch. They refused to stamp it either and said it's HSBC's policy. The staff also explained to me that the Home Office is aware that HSBC doesn't do statement certification anymore and if I have previous 5 months' official statements with a July temp statement on top, it'd be fine.
Would you agree?

I do not agree.  But suspect you won't be the first person with this issue.  Here's the thing though, as they were printed IN BRANCH, what you have is fine.  :)

But it doesn't show anywhere on the paper that it's printed in the branch...a.k.a. there is no proof

I think you will be ok as long as the rest of your application is watertight but I would make plans to move your account before your next visa is due.
And mention somewhere in the application that it was  printed in branch.

I used Halifax accounts for the whole thing, start to finish. Never had a problem having them print and stamp. And even if they decided to stop stamping for whatever reason, their bank printed statements, say printed in branch on them.

Of course, check with your local branch to make sure. I'm in a fairly small town so it's possible they were more generous with their customer service than they would be in a large city.

ok I phoned HSBC telephone banking and they issued an "up-to-date" statement which includes my July salary, and requested to send it to my local branch. It takes 3 working days. Fingers crossed that it arrives before my appointment date(which is next Tuesday!)

Checked with the branch, they don't have my statement yet.

So I guess for the application tomorrow, I can only show them the copy that's printed out in branch and a note explaining the delay of the statement in mail.

Hearing here a lot about the decision is strictly based on "ticking the boxes"  - that makes me nervous... :-\\\\ :-\\\\

Maybe I should book the second appointment already?
