Meh.

Yeah, the rules are much more complex now than 2010, as they’ve made the requirements more prohibitive.  But definitely a lot of scaremongering in this article.  I think we’ve proven thousands of times that you don’t need a lawyer.

But we've also see hundreds of people who got it wrong because the rules can be quite confusing.... like the current case of applying for a visitor visa instead of marriage (fiance) visa... Without help from a place like this, it's a quagmire for a novice.
2004-2008: Student Visa
2008-2010: Tier 1 PSW
2010-2011: Tier 4
2011-2014: Tier 2
2013-2016: New Tier 2 (changed jobs)

That's why I still miss the old UKBA website. Everything was very clearly explained and it was absolutely possible to do it all yourself then. Now, it's a miracle as many manage to get it right as do.

This!

I feel like a lot of information from the old UKBA website went walking, or got reworded in a way that actually made it worse.  Not to mention the maze that is VFS as well.
