I love the cafe's in the UK
« on: September 13, 2018, 03:18:07 PM »
I noticed this a while back, but there is a cafe literally everywhere. Going clothes shopping? Stop by the cafe!
Want some coffee? There are approximately 17 Costa's in the City Center.
I haven't taken my car to a repair shop yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the shop had a cafe!!

The variety of sandwiches/wraps/soups/etc is astounding, and I'm so happy that they offer savory options, instead of only sweets! In addition to Starbucks and CC's Coffee back home, we had 2 "mom & pop* type coffee shops in town and they always had sweets!! I don't like sweet pastries very much, so the variety of snacks available at these cafes is astounding.

I will reserve my enthusiasm for High Tea for another post. :D

So happy to be here.

I havent had high tea yet, but it is on my list of things to do when my mom visits next year! :)

We had a million cafes in my old city, but living next to a Starbucks is keeping me happy here!

Do you guys mean afternoon tea?  :) That's the one with the scones and cakes and a sandwich or two.

High tea is an actual fork and knife type meal had after a days work.

Those $2 americanos, and their souveed egg bites were my "I didn't have enough time this morning" breakfast on my way to work. There were 2 on my 10 minute drive in!

I love all the cafes too! I like to just go out an explore and I'll just pop into a random cafe and give it a try. It's a great way to get to know what's around you. Maybe get to know some people, too!

In the last year or so I've turned into a "coffee snob" but my pallet always has room for pumpkin spice.

LOL that sentence though  [smiley=laugh4.gif]

The Pumpkin Spice latte just never really hooked me. I know everyone loves it but I had it twice and it was just too thick for me. I'll stick with my chai. But I do make some yummy pumpkin spice cupcakes!

They use actual pumpkin in their syrup now (have since beginning of last PSL season hah) so it's extra tasty :)

Which might explain:
