I live between Manchester and Liverpool; near Wigan.

That's not far at all! A rather quick train ride.  :)

Do you visit the Lake District often? I absolutely love it here.  :D

I love the lakes. Visited some through the years and planning to get out a bit more this year. We were up there 2 weeks ago on the boat in bowness.

Cool! My husband is from Leigh and we lived in Westhoughton for a few years. When we finally move back to the UK for retirement, we may end up in the area again.

Yay!  :D
You can have him take some back with him, tell him to come with an empty case!  :). And excess baggage can be fairly good value if you're not shipping.

That would be awesome! I love Windermere. Lots to do and see.  :D

I sure do wish I could make it down south for the upcoming meet-up as well. Would be nice to meet everyone!

Can your soon-to-be hubby take some of your things back with him when he goes?

Hi. He is, he’s going to take a suitcase back with him. I just packed it last night but already rethinking a few things but.. I did fit in all my flats. If course how much it weighs is another thing. Lol. Hopefully right on the 50 pounds.  What size suitcase did you take. This one is a 28x19x10 is that about the largest you can take

The weight is going to be more of a factor. Get some luggage scales, that way you can pack right up to the limit.   :)

I'm not sure on the dimensions of my suitcases but they are pretty massive. I did stay under the 50 pound each though. As, Larrabee mentioned, I think it's wise to take extra bags and just pay the fee as it will cost less than shipping things and you'll have your things with you immediately versus having to wait forever to receive them.

As far as what to bring, you probably don't need many clothes for hot weather. I made the mistake of bringing a few too many "summer" clothes and I could have used that space for something else. Summer is basically like a one-week event here! LOL! But definitely bring the things you really want to have. I think it's better to have too much than not enough in the end.
