I had my first job interview!
« on: October 18, 2018, 12:10:31 PM »
And now, I’ve had my first rejection!  8)

The interview went well and I felt like I nailed it. Lady from HR called me today to say they went with two other people for the job though. She did praise me and say I interviewed well, but the other two had slightly edged me out on the specifications. I took that to mean they had the UK experience I was lacking. On a positive note she did say a few times that I should apply again when they have more positions open up.  ;D

I’m glad they took the time to call me and give me nice feedback, but I am gutted. It seems like a lovely place to work with genuine opportunities to advance. I honestly thought I had this one in the bag. On the plus side though I’ve got more time to devote to driving lessons now!

Sorry  to hear you got a rejection but truly it can just be a numbers game, You'll eventually get  the job offer for sure! It's a positive that they actually called you back to follow up!

I think that sounds like you did an amazing job, especially as it was your first time!  :)

And you have your foot in the door now too which is great!  :)

Yeah, I appreciated that they called and gave the reason for the rejection. It didn't sting as much either when she encouraged me to apply again so that helped my ego a bit!  :)

I surprised myself with how well I did. I usually come away from job interviews nitpicking my performance, but this was the first time I felt I did my absolute best.  ;D
