Hello from Texas!
« on: November 21, 2018, 08:00:21 PM »
Hi everyone! My name is Cristy, and I'm currently back in my hometown of El Paso, Texas. I met my husband, a British citizen, back in 2009 during our respective years abroad, and moved to the U.K. back in 2013 on a settlement (marriage) visa. After five amazing years together, I applied for Indefinite Leave to Remain this year, but due to an oversight (travelling on my second passport while the decision was pending), I received legal advice through my company to leave the country, withdraw my application and apply for settlement from outside the U.K.

So somehow I am back at square one after six years of marriage. It's been heartbreaking, but I'm trying to keep my head held high and solve my error as quickly as possible so I can return to our wonderful life together.

I have been a fan of this forum since 2012, and I regret I'm barely chiming in after so many years. Thank you in advance for your support!

Hello Cristy!

I’m currently living in Houston but I’m a born and raised El Pasoan from Eastwood (Album & Yarbrough).

I’m sorry to learn that you’re back in El Chuco under some cruddy circumstances. I totally feel for you. Hopefully you’ll get back home in no time xx

Thanks for the welcome! The silver lining is I'm back with my family for my first Thanksgiving since I was 18.
